What religion is Jude Bellingham?
Jude Bellingham is an English professional footballer who has not publicly confirmed his religion, and his personal faith remains officially undocumented. On occasion, Bellingham has been observed making the sign of the cross or pointing skyward before or after matches, a ritual commonly associated with Christian athletes. Because of this, several sports profile databases and media publications classify him as having a Christian or culturally Christian background, though he has made no official declaration to confirm this.
Conversely, social media speculation frequently circulates claiming that Bellingham practices Islam. These internet rumors are largely fueled by his on-pitch posture or close personal friendships with Muslim teammates, but no official sources or representatives from his camp have ever validated these claims.
In generic discussions regarding personal perspective, he has expressed general gratitude toward God and mentioned letting a higher path guide his career, without ever anchoring his words to a specific institutional church or religious label.
Bellingham plays as a midfielder for Real Madrid and the England national team. He began his career at Birmingham City before moving to Borussia Dortmund in 2020, and he joined Real Madrid in 2023 for a reported initial fee of €103 million, rising to as much as €133.9 million with add-ons. He has won the La Liga title, the UEFA Champions League, and the Spanish Super Cup with Real Madrid and the DFB-Pokal with Borussia Dortmund. He has represented England at UEFA Euro 2020, the 2022 FIFA World Cup, UEFA Euro 2024, and the 2026 FIFA World Cup, finishing as England’s top scorer at the 2026 tournament as the team reached the semi-finals.
Salary & Contract
Bellingham signed his first professional deal at Birmingham City before Borussia Dortmund signed him in July 2020 for a reported €25 million. This fee made him the fourth-most expensive teenager in Bundesliga history at the time. Reports show he earned a salary of €3 million each year during his three seasons in Germany. Real Madrid then signed Bellingham from Dortmund in June 2023 on a six-year contract that runs until June 30, 2029. The Spanish club paid an initial fee of €103 million, which could rise by another 30 percent based on bonus clauses. His release clause at Real Madrid is set at €1 billion, a standard number meant to keep other clubs away.
Bellingham earns a base salary of €20.8 million per year, which is roughly €400,000 per week at Real Madrid. Extra bonuses can add another €6.2 million to his pay each year. Right now, in mid-2026, reports show that Real Madrid wants to start talks on a new contract to give him a higher weekly wage.
Outside of football, Bellingham has a sponsorship deal with Adidas worth $15 million a year and a partnership with Lucozade. He and his parents also run a company called Bello&Bello Ltd to manage his image rights, which is valued at around £2.4 million.
Early life
Jude Bellingham was born on June 29, 2003, in Stourbridge, England, and grew up in nearby Hagley. He has a younger brother, Jobe, who is also a professional footballer. Bellingham was educated at the Priory School in Birmingham.
He first played football with Stourbridge Juniors before joining the Birmingham City academy at age seven. He moved quickly through the youth teams and was playing for the under-18 squad at just 14 years old. In August 2019, Bellingham made his professional debut for Birmingham City at the age of 16. This made him the youngest first-team player in the club’s history. After he left the club, Birmingham retired his number 22 shirt to honor him.

Real Madrid
Real Madrid signed Bellingham from Dortmund in the summer of 2023, and he scored in his very first game against Athletic Bilbao. His first season in Spain was incredible. He scored 23 goals and made 13 assists in 42 matches to help Real Madrid win a famous treble, lifting La Liga, the Champions League, and the Spanish Super Cup.
